Hello, world: Mobile Advertising for the Intelligence Era

Today, I'm excited to announce CloudX, a new advertising platform to help mobile publishers take advantage of AI to build their advertising business.
I’ve been personally involved in mobile advertising for over fifteen years. When I founded MoPub in 2010 with Bryan Atwood and Nafis Jamal, our big idea was programmatic buying. It was flourishing on desktop but hadn't been applied to mobile. Similarly, when Dan and I started MAX in 2017, our vision was a unified auction to increase competition and reduce workload for publishers. We are proud of what we were able to do to move the state of the art forward in mobile advertising on behalf of the publishers who power it.


Earlier this year, we became convinced that AI would be able to deliver a step function better product for publishers in the mobile ecosystem. Why? AI is disrupting everything it touches, and advertising is no exception. Advanced deep learning models have transformed mobile user acquisition, enabling sophisticated automation and continuously improving user-level bidding systems for advertisers. AI is making it easier and faster to develop content across formats. Publishers are using it to create engaging narrative experiences that will only improve over time. When it comes time for publishers to think about ad monetization, they deserve a platform built to harness AI's power for them. That platform is CloudX.

CloudX’s monetization as code approach offers rich options for advanced publishers: line items to create multiple auction scenarios and per-request price floors; real-time interactive analytics; log level access; a fast, easy to use interface with release tracking, auction simulation, and more. CloudX treats AI copilots and coding agents as first-class users, so any publisher can take advantage. With our MCP and agent stack, new publishers can integrate CloudX in fifteen minutes, and conversationally set up line items and bid floors.

Liquidity is key in any exchange. We are pleased to announce that Meta, Liftoff, and Magnite (with many more to follow) will be integrating with us at launch. CloudX offers a verifiable framework for maximum trust in auction mechanics called TEE. This enables incremental liquidity in a way that other platforms can’t provide.

Finally, to support our mission and bring it to tangible reality, we've raised $30 million Series A led by Addition, with participation from DST Global, Terrain and our seed investors ENIAC, Javelin and Breakpoint Capital.
